The Khmer Rouge was a communist sect that established itself in Cambodia. It was aided by Vietnam. Under its reign it was very strict and bloody; massacres and assassinations were common for this time under Pol Pot. The Khmer Rouge was eventually pushed out by the Vietnamese

Chinese Civil War
It was a war between communist Mao Zedong and socialist Chiang Kia-Shek. After World War II, the factions fought to control the main land of China. Chiang had control of the military but Mao had the popular support. It ended with Chiang's government being pushed back to Taiwan and Mao controlling the mainland with a communistic government.
